    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct independent research focused on advancing musculoskeletal imaging and mechanobiology and play a key role in supporting imaging projects across a diverse range of research areas while also contributing to cutting-edge investigations into musculoskeletal health, tissue mechanics, and skeletal adaptation.
    This position is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in imaging technologies and a passion for understanding the biomechanics and mechanobiology of the musculoskeletal system.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead research projects focused on musculoskeletal imaging and mechanobiology, with an emphasis on understanding musculoskeletal tissue adaptation, tissue mechanics, and disease progression.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory.
    • Oversee the MicroCT Imaging Core, develop and refine scanning and analysis protocols tailored to diverse research projects.
    • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
    • Contribute to grant writing efforts to support ongoing research.
    Qualifications:

    Required:
    • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Musculoskeletal Sciences, or a related field.
    • Experience with MicroCT imaging and image analysis software.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    Preferred:
    • Proficiency in computational tools for image processing (e.g., Python, C++, or Matlab).
    • Familiarity with finite element modeling, biomechanical testing, or multimodal imaging techniques.
    • Strong understanding of musculoskeletal biology, mechanobiology, or tissue mechanics.
