    The University of Nebraska at Omaha is accepting applications for a Research Scientist in the Division of Biomechanics and Research Development.

    This position is a part of the Movement Analysis Core (MOVAN), which is part of the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant awarded to the Department of Biomechanics at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

    Position Summary:

    The Research Scientist is essential for completing internal and external client service contracts, and specialized technical duties for the Biomechanics Research Building. The Research Scientist supervises all research team laboratory technicians, student workers, high schools interns, and assists with the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students using research laboratories in the Biomechanics Research Building. They also oversees the calibration, maintenance, and installation of all shared equipment in the Biomechanics Research Building amongst seven research laboratories. They will submit purchase request related to laboratory operation to the MOVAN Director and/or Building Coordinator/Department Chair. The Research Scientist will generate and maintain Institutional Review Board applications and perform audits to ensure adherence to the protocol. The Research Scientist will assure all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, propose new equipment/servces, as well as restock, order, and organize collection supplies.

    Required Education:

    Master’s degree in biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise science, engineering or related field

    Preferred Education:

    PhD in biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise science, engineering or related field

    Required Experience:

    Demonstrated scientific writing ability via peer-review publications or clinical case-reports.

    Pay Scale:

    Min $57,600 - Max $86,400 in accordance with NU Salary Bands for RA23S

    Work Schedule:

    On-Site required M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
