Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) is home to over 15,000 students and a staff complement of approximately 2,000, full-time and part-time, across seven campuses in Athlone, Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel and Ennis. Established on October 1, 2021, TUS has a strong regional focus and is a key driver of development and investment across the Midlands and Midwest. The new networked university, linked by the river Shannon, borders on almost half of Ireland's 26 counties and will provide unprecedented levels of access to higher education.
The Role
The successful candidate will lecture on the following modules;
• Clinical biomechanics
• Performance biomechanics
• Statistics and data
• Additional applied sports science modules
Expected Start Date
September, 2025
Reporting to
Head of Department, Department of Sport and Health Sciences
Salary
€67,577- €104,559 (over 11 points)
The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy
Qualifications/ Experience
At the date of closing the candidate must have:
• A relevant master’s (level 9) of a recognised third level institution; or equivalent professional qualification.
• Not Less than 3 years relevant post qualification experience
Desirable:
• A PhD (level 10) in a cognate area
• Track record of research achievement, i.e. peer reviewed publications, grant income, evidence of academic and industry collaboration, successful supervision of postgraduate students and/or postdoctoral researchers.
• Accreditation with a relevant body
• Experience in teaching at an undergraduate or postgraduate level
• Applied sports science experience in strength and conditioning or nutrition
• Experience in statistics and data analytics
