The Biomechatronics and Intelligent Robotics Lab (https://haosu-robotics.github.io) at Tandon School of Engineering, New York University (NYU), is inviting applications for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. We seek candidates with expertise in mechatronics, control, reinforcement learning, generative AI, computer vision, computer simulation for surgical and wearable robotics.
PhD students can be admitted in the 2026 fall semester and will receive tuition scholarships and stipends. Students are required to have TOEFL (or IELTS or Duolingo). The lab includes a 1,300 sq. ft. research facility equipped with state-of-the-art motion capture systems, humanoid robots, surgical robot platforms, wearable exoskeletons, robotic prostheses, and physiological measurement devices. It is part of the NYU Center for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence (CREO), a 6,800 sq. ft. interdisciplinary research space dedicated to advancing robotics and intelligent systems.
