Dr. Katherine Poggensee, incoming Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware, is hiring students for funded Ph.D. positions to start in Fall 2026.
The lab focuses on methods to facilitate co-adaptation of human-robot systems, drawing inspiration from fields such as neuromechanics, motor learning, and robotic control theory. Applications for this research include restoring or augmenting mobility and balance with devices such as lower-limb exoskeletons or a wearable gyroscopic robotic backpack.
