The Biomotion laboratory at the University of Kentucky has a fully funded (tuition and stipend) position open for a highly motivated individual who would like to pursue a masters degree in either biomechanics or biomedical engineering. The laboratory uses 3D motion capture, advanced magnetic resonance imaging, and a variety of wearable sensors to study how people recover from injuries. We apply these techniques to common athletic injuries and orthopaedic traumas such as an ACL tear, lower extremity fractures, and knee osteoarthritis. The person in this position will receive individualized mentorship, work as part of a larger team that includes engineers, physical therapists, and physicians, and have opportunities to present research at national meetings. The person will be mentored by Drs. Meredith Owen and Brian Noehren.
