The Faculty of Sports Science at Ningbo University, in collaboration with Zhejiang Arcana Power Sports Tech. CO., LTD., is seeking to recruit postdoctoral fellows for an interdisciplinary research program focused on sports biomechanics, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, and the intelligent development of high-end sports equipment. The program is coordinated and supervised by Professor Yaodong Gu.
This collaborative initiative bridges cutting-edge academic research with industrial R&D applications. Successful candidates will engage in projects aiming to integrate sports biomechanics, AI algorithms, and advanced mechanical design to innovate and develop the next generation of intelligent sports equipment and fitness products.
The postdoctoral fellows will be primarily based at Ningbo University, with opportunities for research collaboration and industry engagement at Zhejiang Arcana Power Sports Tech. CO., LTD., a leading enterprise in the fitness and sports equipment manufacturing sector. Researchers will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a motion capture lab, biomechanics testing equipment, and dedicated AI computation resources. The research environment is further enriched by interdisciplinary cooperation with domestic and international engineering and sports science partners.
Ningbo University is a key comprehensive university in China, offering a dynamic and supportive research atmosphere. The annual salary for postdoctoral researchers is highly competitive, starting from approximately 300,000 RMB/year (subject to adjustment based on qualifications and experience), with additional performance-based bonuses and benefits. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of extension based on research productivity and project needs.

Qualifications:
- A recent Ph.D. (or near completion) in Sports Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Intelligent Sensing, or a closely related field.
- Strong background and research interest in one or more of the following areas: human movement analysis, biomechanical modeling, machine learning/deep learning, computer vision, smart sensor technology, mechanical design and simulation, or product R&D.
- Proven track record of research and publication.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and an industry-academia collaboration setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
