Overview
The Motion Analysis Research & Innovation Scientist (MACMS) is responsible for developing, promoting, and conducting interdisciplinary quality improvement and research projects that advance clinical care and/or the field of motion analysis.
This position is based in Philadelphia and will support our facilities in Philadelphia, Erie and Springfield (MA).
The role of this position is to develop research and/or clinical programs that advance our understanding of movement analysis in pediatrics. Shriners Children’s MACs primarily perform gait analysis, but is interested in expanding services for the upper extremity, spine and sports analysis. We are searching for candidates that are familiar with marker motion capture (preferable Vicon based) and can develop new models for motion.
Shriner Children’s is interested in exploring the application of new technologies such as computer vision, markerless motion capture, 2D analysis, wearable sensors in pediatrics, uses of OpenSim and/or MuJoCo. A strong candidate will have the ability to code, preferably in Python, and have experience in statistical analysis of motion data, and understanding of machine learning and/or management of large data sets.
