Workplace/Department: The Chair of Experimental Musculoskeletal Medicine is specialized in interdisciplinary musculoskeletal research with a focus on in-vivo measurements in humans. The main topics are musculoskeletal adaptations to spaceflight, ageing, immobilisation, and after injury and during rehabilitation. Research methods from medicine, sports science, physiology, computer science and engineering are used for this purpose. The young and dynamic team operates in an international and interdisciplinary context. There are intense collaborations with several computer science, engineering and clinical departments. The postdoc position is part of the EU Horizon-funded project Smart Implants for Life Enrichment (SmILE): https://horizon-smile.eu/
We are looking for a PostDoc (m/f/x) with an interest in movement and gait analysis for the advertised position. In the SmILE project, the main task will be to collect gait and movement data to study changes with ageing. We have a fully equipped movement lab with a motion capture system, an instrumented treadmill, EMG and force plates. In addition, the use of instrumented insoles will be a major focus in this project and role. The applicant is expected to have experience in data analysis and with the publication of scientific articles in international journals.

- Involvement in several work packages of the SmILE project, responsible to deliver questionnaire, gait and motion data
- Conception and implementation of biomechanical and physiological measurements
- Cooperation with international and local collaboration partners
- Co-supervision of doctoral students
- Data processing and data analysis using statistical software
- Writing of scientific articles and publication in international journals
- Doctoral degree / PhD in a related field, e.g., human movement sciences
- Enjoy interdisciplinary work and have an interest in learning on new topics and techniques from different fields to be able to take a holistic view of the given problems
- Have the ability to conduct scientifc work independently in an interdisciplinary team
