  • Funded PhD Assistantship in Biomechanics - Montana State University - Bozeman

    ​The Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab at Montana State University is recruiting a fully funded PhD student starting in Fall 2026. The selected individual will work with Dr. Carolin Curtze on a project focused on wearable inertial sensor systems for continuous monitoring of slip-related falls during daily life.

    The student will join the PhD program in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences with a focus on Motor Control and complete the associated curriculum (link below).

    Preferred qualifications:
    • ​Biomechanics, biomedical engineering, kinesiology, neuroscience, physical therapy, or related field
    • Curiosity and capacity to learn
    • Commitment to scientific rigor
    • Strong data analysis and coding experience
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team
    • Experience in programming (e.g., Matlab) is desired, but not required
    • Experience in wearable sensor technology or 3D movement analysis (e.g., motion capture, force platforms) is desired, but not required
    • Experience in working with clinical populations is desired, but not required​
