The Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratories at MSU is interested in selling an unused Parologg plantar pressure (in-shoe pressure) measurement system from Paromed (Neubeuern, Germany). Each insole contains 32 hydrocells to measure plantar pressure up to 62.5 Newtons per square centimeter (625 kiloPascals). In addition to in-shoe pressure measurement, the system also comes with inertial sensors to record the position of the foot in space as well as the resultant of acceleration. The system includes 4 insoles, European sizes 37/38, 39/40, 41/42, and 43/44 (U.S. and Canadian sizes Men’s 5 through 10.5 and Women’s 6.5 through 12). Plantar pressure data can be collected up to a rate of 300 Hz, inertial sensor data up to 100 Hz, and both sets of data can be wirelessly transmitted to the base. Data transmission is via W-LAN (wireless local area network). The measurement period per battery charge is about 1.5 hours.
Additional information can be found online at the Paromed website
The system comes with:
- A charging station
- 2 sync boxes for data collection
- 4 pairs of insoles (European sizes 37/38, 39/40, 41/42, 43/44)
- Elastic mounting wraps
- 2 inertial measurement sensors
- Remote control
- Software
- Packaged in an aluminum case
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Clifford Beckett (beckett@msu.edu) or Mr. Jerrod Braman (bramanj1@msu.edu) for further details. The price is negotiable.
