    B&L Engineering Announces New Retro-Reflective Marker Products

    Pearl Reflective Markers
    New and exclusive to B&L Engineering, our Pearl markers offer improved retro reflectivity at greater distances and at lower exposure threshold settings than traditional markers. In addition, motion capture software can better distinguish Pearl Markers when placed close together or in the same line of sight compared to standard markers.

    Pearl Markers are made with machined hemispheres and an M4 center threaded cylinder resulting in greater spherical accuracy and identification of the marker centroid. Only two hemispherical pieces of durable 3M 7610 high gain reflective material cover each marker, and are joined with a very small seam at the equator. Simply put, our Pearl Markers provide greater precision for all 3-D motion capture systems. Pearl markers are available in 9.5mm (3/8”), 12.7mm (1/2”), 14.0mm, 15.9mm (5/8”), and 19.0mm (3/4”) spheres and can be ordered with several base options.

    Traditional Reflective Markers
    B&L Engineering continues to provide traditional markers made with individual pieces of 3M 7610 reflective material in a wide range of sizes from 1.5mm (1/16”) to 38.1mm (1 ½”).

    Marker Clusters for Visual3D and other Motion Analysis Software
    Marker Clusters are thin light-weight rigid plastic fixtures with 12.7mm reflective markers. The Velcro backing attaches the clusters to either Fabrifoam® or neoprene limb segment wraps. Marker Clusters are available for each body segment including foot, calf, thigh, forearm, upper arm, lower and upper back, and headband. Custom Marker Clusters in different sizes and shapes are also available.
