  • Cross Lab Motion

    Dear students,

the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) Student Committee is excited to launch a new virtual initiative, Cross Lab Motion—a rotating series of lab-hosted meetings designed to foster peer feedback, collaboration, and shared curiosity in biomechanics. This series will take place primarily across the ASB community, but this year they are also extending the invitation to colleagues in the European Society of Biomechanics, the Canadian Society of Biomechanics, and the International Society of Biomechanics. With the World Congress of Biomechanics taking place in Vancouver next year, this is an ideal moment to strengthen international connections in advance.

Last year, they hosted the Inter-Lab Journal Club. Based on student feedback, they are evolving the format to make the sessions more interactive and personalized. Their goal is to give students the opportunity to:
    • Meet and engage with new labs
    • Share their research in a supportive, cross-institutional setting
    • Learn about diverse approaches to biomechanics
    • Practice communicating their work to a wider scientific audience
Although participation is open to all, the primary focus of Cross Lab Motion is to create meaningful opportunities for students to connect, collaborate, and grow.

If your lab is interested in joining the rotation, please fill out this FORM. Once signed up, they will follow up with details about scheduling and confirm the hosting order for the next six months (with a different lab leading each month).

    All the best,
    Elisa Romero Avila
