The International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS) is committed to supporting the next generation of researchers and practitioners in sports biomechanics. For 2026, ISBS offers a set of grants designed to reduce financial barriers and expand opportunities for research, training, and international experience.
Whether you are developing your own research project, hosting a student intern, or planning a short research stay, these grants are there to support you at key stages of your academic and professional journey.
Student Research Grant
The Student Research Grant is aimed at students conducting research in sports biomechanics or closely related areas.
Funding may be used to support:
Internship Grant
The Internship Grant supports Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in hosting and mentoring a student intern within a research or applied biomechanics environment.
This grant provides financial support to the host ECR, helping to cover costs associated with supervising and integrating a student into an active project. Its aim is to promote high-quality mentorship, provide meaningful research or applied experience for students, and support ECRs in developing their supervisory and leadership skills.
Early Career and Developing Researcher Mobility Grant
The Early Career and Developing Researcher Mobility Grant provides funding to support full ISBS members undertaking short-term research visits with an established ISBS member or an applied organization.
This grant may be used to travel to a host research laboratory or applied organization that uses sports biomechanics. Its purpose is to enable recipients to learn new techniques, collect data, develop research skills, strengthen the link between research and practice, and build collaborative sports biomechanics networks.
➡️Who Can Apply?
These grants are open to ISBS members. Eligibility criteria, required documents, funding amounts, and deadlines vary by grant type, so we encourage you to carefully review the guidelines: https://isbs.org/grants
➡️How to Apply
Full details on:
If you are an ISBS member with a research idea, training plan, or mobility opportunity for 2026, these grants offer an excellent way to turn plans into action! We strongly encourage you to explore the opportunities and apply.
