Morgan Sangeux
Dr Morgan Sangeux is a mechanical engineer with a PhD. in biomechanics and biomedical engineering from the Université Technologique de Compiègne, France. After completing his PhD, Dr Sangeux started as research and development engineer in the Gait laboratory at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia in 2007 and in 2010 became the chief biomedical engineer. In 2014, thanks to a career development award, Morgan became research fellow at The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and in 2016 became senior research fellow and co-group leader of Gait laboratory & Orthopaedics.
Dr Sangeux creates biomechanical models of the human body and develops new medical imaging techniques to validate them. His most current project consists of merging gait analysis data with medical imaging to understand how torsional deformities of the femur affect muscle and joint contact forces during gait. Morgan also developed an interest in statistical learning, and leads a research project to create a computer-aided decision system for gait analysis in children with cerebral palsy.
