Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education

Applicants are invited for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor, in
the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University,
starting June 1, 2003. The Department offers two undergraduate programs, one
leading to a Quebec teaching certificate and another in Kinesiology. The
graduate program has specialization in biomechanics, exercise physiology,
pedagogy, adapted physical activity and psychology of sport and motor
behavior. Laboratory space is available in the Seagram Sport Science Centre

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in biomechanics or a
related discipline which will contribute to the biomechanics portion of our
programs. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in
biomechanics and ergonomics. The position involves teaching and supervising
students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The individual will
be expected to develop an independent line of scholarly inquiry and seek
appropriate funding. Teaching experience would be expected. Base annual
salary for first year assistant professor is $55,000 (CDN).
