The Division of Bioengineering at the National University of Singapore
has recently been awarded a grant to study: "MECHANICAL CHARACTERISATION
OF BULK SOFT TISSUE FOR INTELLIGENT CAD-FEA PROSTHETICS APPLICATION:
COMBINING IN-VIVO EXPERIMENTS AND FINITE ELEMENT MODELLING". A Research
Engineer position is available through this grant. Please find a brief
description of the position as follows:

The research project is directed towards the evaluation and development
of a new prosthetic socket for the artificial leg, using advanced
pressure measurement and gait analysis techniques. The person we are
looking for should preferably have experience in this area plus some
knowledge/experiences in rehabilitation engineering. Applicants should
possess at least a good honours degree in either Mechanical,
Electrical/Electronic, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of computer programming, data acquisition and strain gauge
instrumentation is essential. Preferred expertise include signal
processing and LabVIEW programming. Good experimental skills and
proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and software are also desired.
This unique opportunity will provide access to advanced technology
involving biomedical and biomechanical engineering and rehabilitation
medicine. The successful candidate is expected to initiate new lines of
inquiry contributing as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
