Three Research Fellows/Assistants in Computational and Experimental Biomechanics

Three exciting opportunities in the area of medical engineering with a focus on spinal mechanics and cement fixation are available for fixed terms of two or three years in the Medical and Biological Engineering Research Group within the School of Mechanical Engineering. These posts are part of collaborative programmes with the School of Medicine, University of Leeds and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. The projects focus on the biomechanical aspects of vertebroplasty and the use of cement in orthopaedic applications using a variety of leading edge experimental and computational techniques. The posts, which are funded by Action Medical Research, the Arthritis Research Campaign and EPSRC, are available from 1 January 2006, or as soon as possible thereafter.

For all posts you will have a PhD (or expect to be awarded one shortly) in an area focusing on medical engineering and/or biomechanics or another area, such as computational fluid dynamics, that may be applied successfully to any of these three projects.
