Post Doctoral Researcher / Research Assistant position available in University College Dublin

Initial 12 month contract

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct a series of studies to simulate the electrical stimulation of nerve and muscle tissue as part of a recently funded Enterprise Ireland Innovation partnership grant. This project is a collaboration between Bio-Medical Research (BMR) Ltd., and the Schools of Physiotherapy and Performance Science and Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, University College Dublin. The aim of the project is to develop and refine novel techniques for electrical neuromuscular stimulation applied to obesity management, low back pain prevention and rehabilitation, and treatment of incontinence.

The work will involve the development of computational models of neuromuscular electrical stimulation using finite element methods. The model simulation studies will inform the design of more effective electrical stimulators.

We can offer a salary in excess of 40,000euro p.a. (plus benefits) and invite applications from experienced researchers in the field of biomedical engineering with a qualification at the level of MSc or higher.
