(Manufacturing and Mechanical)

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to join the Bio-medical and Micro Engineering Research Centre.

You will undertake research, sponsored by the Arthritis Research Campaign, to investigate the mechanical properties of articular cartilage under high frequency loading. You will have a relevant degree in engineering or science and a good understanding of research methods and processes.

The project involves handling and dissecting bovine joints delivered from an abattoir, therefore, the ability to handle, dissect and mechanically test bovine synovial joints is essential and previous experience of mechanical testing of natural or synthetic materials would be an advantage.

Starting salary in the range of 22,332 a year to 23,002 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to 27,466). The post will be available from October 07 for a period of 12 months.
