it is our pleasure to announce that Registrations for the
first Congress of the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics
Community (1st i-FAB Congress - 4-6 September 2008; www.i-FAB.org) are now
OPEN! You may want to take advantage of the Early Registration fees,
deadline 10th July.

The Congress is hosted by Dr Alberto Leardini and colleagues from the
Movement Analysis Laboratory, Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli
(www.ior.it), Bologna, Italy.

After the impressive response to our Call for Papers, the i-FAB Congress now
comprises 8 Oral and 6 Poster presentation Sessions, for a total of 142
papers. This is in addition to 4 tutorials, 2
international consensus meetings and 6 keynote lectures, as follow:

1) George Arangio: 'Sailing charted seas: biomechanics and the
orthopedic surgeon'
2) Peter Cavanagh: 'Foot complications of diabetes'
3) Harold Kitaoka: 'Advances in biomechanics of posterior tibial tendon
dysfunction and flatfoot deformity'
4) Mario Lafortune: 'The role of research in the development of athletic
footwear'
5) Sorin Siegler: 'Advances in image-based biomechanics of the human
ankle'
6) Marco Viceconti: 'Multiscale modelling and team science: the future
of orthopaedic biomechanics'
