Our Chicago Hospital provides comprehensive orthopedic, plastic, reconstructive and craniofacial surgery and rehabilitation services for children.

We currently have a Motion Analysis Lab (MAL) Physical Therapist opening for 32 hours per week. The well-experienced, multidisciplinary laboratory team combines clinical and biomechanical expertise to assess children and adolescents with neurological and orthopaedic conditions. The Physical Therapist is an essential member of that team whose responsibilities include:
Collect and oversee data necessary for clinical movement analyses, e.g. conduct a physical examination of the patient, instrument the patient for three-dimensional motion data capture and dynamic electromyography, collect foot pressure data.
Present clinical motion analysis cases at the laboratory interpretation sessions.
Provide patient and family education with respect to clinical gait analysis.
Participate in research projects including the development and implementation of study protocols, preparation of reports, and presentation of results.
Provide staff education and training through lectures and conference participation.
Provide patient treatment such as gait training, muscle strengthening and postural control.

Candidates must have a degree in Physical Therapy. Previous experience in the clinical treatment of children with neuromuscular disease is preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated interest in biomechanics of human movement, an aptitude for research, and a high comfort level with technology.
