Hi Ed,

Apologies for the delayed reply, I have been on leave for the past week.

As I understand it in SportRχiv terms, a pre-print is the version that you initially submit for peer review and a post-print is the final word processor-type document you submit to the journal after peer-review, before the proofs are created. We are encouraging submissions of both, although there can be embargo periods in place for post-prints, depending on the publisher (often 12-24 months). There are precedents in other disciplines that have been running much longer (see e.g. arxiv.org or biorxiv.org).

Please also see more information on the SportRχiv website at;
http://sportrxiv.org/submission-guidelines/ & http://sportrxiv.org/interactive-journal-policy-list/

Kind regards,

Ian.
