Our pediatric gait lab is looking for recommendations on the optimal arrangement of four AMTI force plates. The pit can accommodate four in a row, and/or one directly to the left. Given this space, what would be the optimal configuration? Four in a row? Three in a row and one to the side? Should the side plate be in line with one of the other three plates, or offset? Should the plates in a line be touching or should they have space between? We primarily see pediatric patients with some gait impairment. Some patients have very small step lengths. Occasionally we do some over ground running. Ideally we would like to get force data for every independent ambulator as time efficiently as possible.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
