3 year collaborative project between Toffeln Ltd (a supplier of footwear since 1978) and University of Salford (School of Health Sciences).

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sport Science, Podiatry or related graduate to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate in a dynamic role looking to create a mass customization strategy for workplace footwear and a tool to aid selection of appropriate footwear via an online platform. The post holder will have undertaken a laboratory-based project at undergraduate or Masters level relating to some aspect of gait or biomechanics testing (e.g. using pressure sensors, foot scanners or motion capture technology).

The successful candidate will undertake a 36 month collaborative project between Toffeln Ltd (a supplier of footwear since 1978), and an internationally leading biomechanics research group at the University of Salford (School of Health Sciences). Based in the Bristol area, you will be supported by the experienced staff from Toffeln and the University of Salford to undertake scientific research work therefore gaining experience in experimental research. Additionally, the post holder will gain a deeper understanding of commercial operations, strategic and operational planning processes, marketing strategies and market intelligence. In addition, working in a small company in close contact with other staff, the Associate will gain experience of being a key player within the growth of the business.

The KTP Associate will receive a competitive salary, extensive practical and formal training, gain highly desirable specialist business skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and gain valuable experience from commercial and academic mentors. The Associate will also benefit from a Personal Development Budget of 6,000 and will have the opportunity to register free of charge for a postgraduate research qualification, such as a PhD with the work undertaken in the KTP.
