FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The School of Health Science’s Department of Physical Therapy, at the College of Staten Island,currently seeks candidates for a tenure track position in Physical Therapy at the rank of Assistant orAssociate Professor. We have an immediate vacancy for a Clinical Education Coordinator (DCE),anticipated to begin in August 2018. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for the successfulcandidate to participate in the continued intellectual and institutional growth and development of thelong-standing Physical Therapy Department (offering the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degreeprogram) within the City University of New York.The DCE faculty member shall be responsible for the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration,and monitoring of the clinical education component of the curriculum. This individual will be the facultymember of record for the clinical education courses. The successful candidate is expected to teach theappropriate didactic courses in the PT Program in addition to responsibilities as DCE. The candidatemust have an active research program. The DCE is a valued faculty member of our Physical Therapydepartment. We are seeking an individual to continue the excellence of our Clinical Education program.
This individual should be: energetic and enthusiastic while being committed to teaching and mentoring ofboth students and clinicians. The successful candidate should demonstrate organizational, andinterpersonal skills with the ability to work with clinical education faculty (CCCEs and CIs) to address thediverse needs of students. When concerns arise with students/trainees or other clinical trainingcomponents, the DCE will work in collaboration with the Clinic Site Director and clinical supervisors toaddress issues related to clinical training. Furthermore, the candidate should demonstrate knowledge ofcomputer and software skills to ensure effective data collection, monitoring, aggregation, and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicants have a current license as a Physical Therapist in good standing in New York, or anotherU.S. state with license-eligibility in New York.
2. Applicants have a professional doctoral preparation (DPT or tDPT).
3. Applicants have a minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice; and4. Applicants have a minimum of two years of clinical practice which must include experience as aCCCE or CI in physical therapy, or minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculumdevelopment, and administration in a physical therapy program.

* PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicants have experience of five years as a physical therapist.
2. Applicants have previous experience as a DCE.
3. Applicants have academic doctorate (Ph.D, Ed.D or equivalent).
4. Applicants have a record of scholarship including publications, an active program of research, grants,and other scholarly achievements:a) Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate a strong potential for developing anindependent research program.b) Applicants at the Associate Professor level are expected to have a well-developed research programand a record of research productivity.
