Alder Hey Children's Hospital has one of the largest/busiest gait labs in the country with CMAS accreditation. The department consists of one director, two specialist physiotherapists with three physiotherapists (including this role), two engineers, two admin staff and three orthopaedic surgeons.

We are looking for an advanced research physiotherapist in motion analysis for developing a new role within NWMAC. The job will be divided into 2 roles. Part of the job will be to provide a service performing movement analysis within NWMAC and then to be involved in the interpretation and report writing of data collected. The other aspect of the job will be dedicated to research both within the department and in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, where the post holder will be encouraged to hold an honorary fellowship. The departmentís research strategy is to increase the reputation of the department by conducting both clinical and basic science projects designed to understand and improve the lives of children with cerebral palsy. With this in mind the post holder will be expected to devise and conduct original research within NWMAC leading to presentations at international meetings and peer-reviewed publications in addition to supporting pre-existing studies within our research group. Involvement in grant applications to secure research funds to support continued studies will be encouraged.
