    Faculty Position: Assistant Professor in Kinesiology

    POSITION: Applications are invited for a 9‐month, tenure‐track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the
    Department of Kinesiology with a specialization in Neuroscience.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an energetic faculty member with expertise in neuroscience to strengthen
    interdisciplinary research focused on the neuroanatomy and neurophysiological processes connecting brain function
    with human movement. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining an active line of research, including
    engagement in interdisciplinary collaborations; teaching, advising, and supervising student research in areas of
    expertise; and engaging in collaborative departmental, university, and professional service activities.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have 1) an earned doctorate in exercise or motor neuroscience or related
    field, and 2) evidence of a focused line of research with potential to seek external funding to support research activities.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in teaching and mentoring students in scholarly endeavors. Encompass a
    broad view of neuroscience with strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborations across Department sub‐disciplines.
    Expertise in fMRI and related neuroimaging techniques is also highly desirable.

    START DATE & SALARY: August 1st, 2019; Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    THE DEPARTMENT OF KINESIOLOGY has 31 full‐time faculty and is one of nine departments or programs in the School
    of Health and Human Sciences ( The faculty are strongly committed to curriculum and

    Ed.D, and Ph.D. degrees The University’s Gateway MRI Center is a dedicated facility for
    faculty and student research. The center houses a 3T magnetic resonance scanner with capabilities for a variety of
    functional, quantitative, and structural imaging (
