Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a post-doc position available at the Institute of Neuroscience of Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop a novel multi-modal approach to image gait and contribute to an understanding of the neural correlates of gait in ageing and disease.
We aim to develop and pilot a stepped FDG PET paradigm to dynamically track changes FDG metabolism dynamically to differentiate gait related brain activity from other aspects of walking. Applicants will be expected to work with older adults, carry out physical assessments of balance and gait, and analyse multimodal (FDG PET and MR) imaging data and correlate with gait data to develop an understanding of the neural correlates of gait.

Applicants will have a PhD in a suitable area such as neuroscience, imaging, or engineering. An interest in motor control related to gait, familiarity with imaging techniques and analysis, statistics, working with older adults.

Salary:
30,395 - 39,610 per annum
