The UCD Rehabilitation Engineering and Robotics Laboratory, part of the UCD Centre for Biomedical Engineering and across the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher to join the group. The appointment will be made for an early post-doctoral researcher.

The researcher will work on the development of a prototype robot for rehabilitation training as part of a project (acronym HaCT) funded by Enterprise Ireland. The project aims at developing the prototype of a novel Haptic Cycling Training system that will be used to train disabled individuals. The researcher will be tasked with part of the design and fabrication of the prototype. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, includingthe processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

The post is for 9 months, with possibility of extending depending on funding availability.
This post targets individuals at their first post-doctoral experience. Candidatures from PhD candidates with set graduation date will be considered and are encouraged.
