Faculty Positions in Biomedical Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering of Case Western Reserve University
invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions to begin in
July, 1999. The positions will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor
level, and the candidates will join a strong research and education program
in neuroprostheses and an expanding program in neural engineering. One
position will be in the area of neural interfacing and spinal cord
neurophysiology. The second will be in the area of systems identification
and controls engineering, especially with regard to motor control. There
are many opportunities for collaboration, and for growth of independent
research at both basic and clinical levels. Teaching will be required at
the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with
postdoctoral research experience, and show evidence of ability to generate
independent funding for research. Qualified women and minority candidates
are especially encouraged to apply.
